Frequently Ask Questions
There is no set dress code. Come as you are. You will see a variety of clothing styles form ties to casual clothes, men in suits, khakis, jeans, dress shirts or polo shirts. Women wear dresses, suits, skirts, slacks, and jeans. During the summer months, appropriate summer attire is worn. We know that God is more concerned with a person’s heart than their clothes, so dress in a way that will allow you to worship God with all your might!
The church’s postal address is 406 N. College St., Charlotte, NC. The church building is located on the corner of 7th and College Streets.
First United has been granted parking privileges with Secure Parking. We can park in their 424 lot (the large parking lot behind our Educational Building) on Sundays from 9:30 am until 12:30 pm. The hours are extended to 1:30 pm on Shared Ministry Sundays on the third Sunday of each month. Please remember you must display your First United rearview mirror parking pass to identify your vehicle(s) with the church. Let’s all follow these guidelines as the uptown parking situation continues to unfold.

In most cases, the church will hold services on Sunday mornings, despite bad weather. In the case of extreme circumstances, we will use our phone tree to notify members. In addition, church members should check radio and television stations for closing information.
