Presbyterian Women

2017 Presbyterian Women's Gathering

The month of March is known as Women's History Month. This is the month where we take time to celebrate and recognize the extraordinary achievements of American Women.  It is also during this month that we celebrate the wonderful women of the Presbyterian Church.  In 2017, on Celebrate the Gifts of Women Sunday, we are encouraged to live with an "attitude of gratitude" and give thanks to our Lord with a grateful heart.

This coming weekend, Saturday and Sunday, the Presbyterian Women of First United Presbyterian Church, USA, will be celebrating Women's Day by paying homage to the wonderful women of our church and honoring Presbyterian Women worldwide.

Our theme for this year is Living With an Attitude of Gratitude:  Celebrating the Gifts of our Past, Present & Future Presbyterian Women.  Living with an attitude of gratitude means showing appreciation, returning kindnesses, saying thank you and giving thanks with a grateful heart.  Because of what God has first given us, we respond in gratitude.  And because he has blessed us with such wonderful and unique gifts, we must use those gifts to continue to do His work so that others can know Him and recognize their gifts as well.

This Women’s Day, as we give thanks to God, we also want to take time to do the following:

  • Pay homage to the past women of First United who have paved the way for Presbyterian Women within this wonderful church and congregation.
  • Give thanks to the present women of First United who continue to press forward on behalf of Presbyterian Women, the church and its congregation.
  • Encourage the future women of First United and pray that they grow in His word and use their gifts to further uplift the church and its congregation.
