At First United, we seek to provide our children and youth opportunities for spiritual growth through education, fellowship, and mission. Our youth are involved in all facets of the church as well as camps and conferences such as youth choir and participating in worship services at least once a month. Other activities include:

Vacation Bible School

First United and Memorial Churches invite you to join us for Vacation Bible School, June 19 - 23 from 5:30 to 8:30 pm at Memorial Presbyterian Church, 2600 Beatties Ford Road, Charlotte. Discover Your Strength in God! Come along on awesome adventures alongside our favorite Bible heroes and discover the qualities that make us truly heroic in God. VBS Hero Central uses magnificent music, amazing arts & crafts, engaging classroom activities and fantastic Bible stories to help each of us discover our strength in God! Classes for Pre-K (age 4) through Adults. Dinner at 5:30 each night with classes beginning at 6:00 pm. Our closing celebration worship service will be held at First United PC on Sunday, June 25th at 11:00 am


Communicant/Confirmation Classes

2016 class participants are Davis Barber, Aliyah Tate, Devanee Williams, Trey Rogers, Xavier Brown, Cary Dozier, Sean Maxwell, Tadaysha Cannon and Mahogany Yongue.


Youth Recognition Sunday

High school and college graduates plan the worship service and participate by telling their spiritual stories. 


The Joint Vacation Bible School

The Joint Vacation Bible School (VBS) program is held at Memorial Presbyterian Church.  On Sunday following bible school week, both churches participate in the closing during the worship service at First United.


Charlotte Youth Ministry Consortium (CYMC)

Charlotte Youth Ministry Consortium (CYMC),  an initiative of the Presbytery of Charlotte, designed to bring together middle and high school youth from smaller congregations to create an exciting and vibrant youth ministry program in a cooperative ministry setting, Regularly scheduled youth group meetings are held on the 3rd Sunday of each month at one of the churches participating in the consortium.  In addition, the youth participate in fellowhip, service learning and mission projects at least once per month. Middle School Montreat Conference

Middle School Montreat Conference. This year we had two youth (Tadaysha Cannon and Mahogany Yongue) attend this conference in Maryville, TN.  It was an awesome spiritual experience.
